FLEX, formally known as Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt, was founded in 1922 by Hermann Ackermann and Hermann Schmitt to manufacture and sell their new invention. The MS 6 hand-held grinding machine was the first of its kind. The flexible shaft feature was the inspiration behind the brand new tools name and for the brand name that we know today.
